Description
Botanical Origin
Young Living's Kunzea Essential Oil is extracted from the Kunzea ambigua plant, a wild shrub native to the southern coast of Australia and Tasmania. This plant thrives in sandy coastal environments and has been traditionally used for its beneficial properties. Kunzea, also known as Kunzea ericoides or 'white tea tree', is part of the myrtle family and is distinguished by its small white flowers and aromatic foliage.
The harvesting and distillation of kunzea are carried out with deep respect for the environment, ensuring the sustainability of the species. Young Living obtains this oil through a steam distillation process of the leaves and terminal branches, which preserves the purity and potency of its natural components.
Main Chemical Composition
The chemical profile of Kunzea essential oil is complex and is what gives it its unique characteristics. Among its most prominent components are:
- Alpha-pinene (α-pinene): A monoterpene with a fresh, pine-like aroma, known for its potential effects on mental clarity and air purification.
- Globulol and viridiflorol: Sesquiterpenols found in smaller proportions, but contributing to the aromatic profile and properties of the oil.
- 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol): Present in moderate amounts, this monoterpenic oxide imparts a fresh, slightly camphoraceous aroma and is associated with respiratory support.
- Bicyclogermacrene: Another sesquiterpene that contributes to kunzea's botanical properties.
The combination of these and other compounds forms a synergistic profile that distinguishes kunzea from other essential oils. Research in phytochemistry continues to explore how these components interact to offer their potential benefits.

Kunzea essential oil has an aroma that is both refreshing and comforting. It is described as:

Frequently Asked Questions
What differentiates Kunzea from other tea tree oils?
Although it shares some components with traditional tea tree oils, Kunzea (Kunzea ambigua) has a unique chemical profile, with a higher proportion of alpha-pinene and the presence of globulol and viridiflorol. This gives it a milder, balsamic, and less medicinal aroma, as well as a range of complementary properties.
Can Kunzea oil be used directly on the skin?
Direct application to the skin without dilution is not recommended. To avoid possible sensitivities, it should always be diluted with a carrier oil, such as fractionated coconut, jojoba, or sweet almond vegetable oil, before applying topically. A ratio of 1-2 drops of Kunzea per 5 ml of carrier oil is suggested, along with a patch test.
When is the best time to diffuse Kunzea?
Kunzea essential oil is ideal for diffusing anytime you want to create an atmosphere of calm and connection with nature. It is especially suitable during meditation, yoga practices, before sleep to promote relaxation, or simply to freshen the ambiance at home or in the office with a forest aroma.
Does Kunzea oil have a strong aroma?
The aroma of Kunzea is noticeable but not overpowering. It is described as balsamic, woody, and slightly spicy, with a fresh touch. It is milder than some essential oils with more intense profiles, and its fragrance is highly appreciated for its ability to offer feelings of balance and tranquility.

Great product
We have been buying this olive oil for the last ten years and we are happy with the way it tastes and the fact it is organic, first cold pressed and extra virgin olive oil. We do not use it for cooking. We may add it to a few dishes after cooking and we use it for salad dressing.
This is sooOOoo Yummy
This Pompeian Organic Robust Extra Virgin Olive Oil is sooOOoo great. The taste is one of the best on the market. I eat organic as much as I can, and the price for this brand, plus the fact that it's robust and extra virgin, is a win-win. I absolutely love drizzling olive oil over my sliced tomatoes, then splashing on coconut aminos. If you haven't tried that mix, give it a go, but be careful, it's addictive...hahaha.
