Description
Botanical Origin of Rosemary Essential Oil
Young Living Rosemary Essential Oil is derived from the steam distillation of the leaves and flowers of the Rosmarinus officinalis plant, an aromatic shrub native to the Mediterranean region. This plant, revered since ancient times by various cultures, grows abundantly in sunny, dry climates, which favors the development of its aromatic compounds and unique properties. Careful selection and cultivation of the plants ensure a high-quality raw material for obtaining this valuable essential oil.
Main Chemical Composition
The chemical profile of Rosemary Essential Oil is complex and rich in volatile compounds. Its main components typically include:
- 1,8-Cineole (Eucalyptol): Often the most abundant component, known for its expectorant properties and its fresh, camphoraceous aroma.
- Alpha-pinene: A monoterpene with a fresh pine aroma, also present in many other essential oils.
- Camphor: Contributes to rosemary's characteristic aroma and sensation.
- Beta-pinene, Camphene, Limonene: Other monoterpenes that add complexity to the aromatic profile and enhance some of its qualities.
The exact proportion of these components may vary slightly depending on the subspecies (chemotype) of rosemary, the climate, and the distillation method, influencing the subtle distinctions of each oil batch.
Aromatic Profile
The aroma of Rosemary Essential Oil is intense, herbal, fresh, and camphoraceous, with slightly balsamic and woody nuances. It is an invigorating fragrance often described as:
- Top Notes: Fresh, penetrating, mentholic.
- Middle Notes: Herbal, medicinal, with pine notes.
- Base Notes: Slightly sweet, woody, persistent.
Its aromatic nature makes it an excellent choice for creating environments that promote mental clarity and energy.

Productos y empresa CUIDADO
