Its unique character lends itself to moments of reflection, helping to create an environment that invites serenity and comfort. This product embodies Young Living's philosophy of cultivating well-being through nature, offering a distinctive and memorable experience with every use.

Botanical Origin of Key Components

Melrose's formulation is built from pure essential oils, each with a specific botanical origin contributing to its olfactory profile and inherent qualities:

  • Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia): Native to Australia, tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves by steam distillation. It is known for its fresh, medicinal, and penetrating aroma.
  • Niaouli (Melaleuca viridiflora): Also belonging to the Melaleuca genus, niaouli comes from New Caledonia and Australia. Its oil, distilled from the leaves, offers an aroma similar to eucalyptus, fresh and slightly sweet.
  • Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis): This perennial aromatic herb is native to the Mediterranean region. Rosemary essential oil, obtained by steam distillation from its flowers and leaves, has a fresh, herbaceous, and stimulating aroma.
  • Clove (Eugenia caryophyllata): Originating from Southeast Asia, clove oil is extracted from dried flower buds. Its aroma is warm, sweet, and spicy, with potent undertones.

Main Chemical Composition

The synergy of Melrose emerges from the combination of chemical compounds present in each of its constituent oils. While the exact proportion is Young Living's proprietary formula, the predominant bioactive components in its individual oils include:

  • Terpinen-4-ol and γ-terpinene: Main components of Tea Tree oil, known for their refreshing and purifying properties.
  • Eucalyptol (1,8-cineole) and α-pinene: Abundant in Niaouli oil, they impart its fresh and penetrating character. Eucalyptol is also present in rosemary.
  • 1,8-Cineole, α-pinene, and camphor: The most common chemotypes of Rosemary oil, responsible for its herbaceous and invigorating aroma.
  • Eugenol: The major component of Clove oil, known for its warm and spicy aroma.

The combination of these compounds creates a complex and balanced chemical profile, supporting the aromatic and usage characteristics of the original Melrose blend.

Aromatic Profile

Melrose offers a unique and multifaceted aromatic profile:

  • Top notes: Fresh and clean, dominated by the vibrancy of tea tree and niaouli, with a slightly medicinal and camphoraceous nuance.
  • Heart notes: Transition to a more herbaceous and aromatic character, contributed by rosemary, introducing a toning and rustic feel.
  • Base notes: A subtle but warm spicy nuance emerges from the clove, anchoring the fragrance and adding depth.

Overall, the fragrance is clean, herbaceous, and uplifting, with a discreet warmth that lingers. It is an aroma that can evoke a sense of cleanliness, well-being, and connection with nature.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply Melrose directly to the skin without dilution?

Mostly Satisfied

As a first time buyer, a collection of issues has me undecided about returning the carpet as I'm loath to repeat ironing a replacement carpet so it lays flat. See attached photos for the following issues (a) not square lengthwise by 1.6 cm which might not be noticable, but the carpet lays on hardwood floors, so it is noticable (rotating the carpet to hid the irregularity results in making issue (c) more noticable) (b) 3 example pictures showing a few of many orange-flecks running through the weave of the carpet (c) half-way in to one of the length edges, the edge is narrower for 26 cm. For submitting this review, I am not looking to earn a 20%-off coupon on a future purchase, I am wanting compensation to be willing to keep the flawed carpet you sent me. Thank you for your time, attention and a consideration in responding to this review.

Beautiful

This rug is a beautiful rug. Color is as depicted. It's not soft, although it soften a little after some wear. The shedding lessens after some vacuums as well. Seems quality and is perfect for what I need!

Perfect!

So happy I made this purchase. I debated whether the pattern would be too busy but it really pulls my neutral fabrics together perfectly. As other reviewers mentioned there are bumps in the rug from the packaging but they seem to be flattening over time.

Love this rug

Love this rug- looks great in my living room- no shedding and color is perfect. It had a few loose loops but hopefully they will not pull out and you really can't see them unless u check really close.

Satisfied customer!

After some anxiety on finding the huge rug had been sent folded and boxed (instead of rolled,as promised). Placed it in the room and liked the color, size and quality. Now, two weeks later, the folds are no longer noticeable. Thank you, RUGSUSA

So much shedding

I love the look of this rug. So much I bought it in moss for our bedroom and cream for our living room, but my *** it sheds SO MUCH. To the point I’m now looking for new rugs. I understand wool rugs shed for a time, but it’s now been over a year and we fill up our Dyson every. single. week. just with fibers from this rug. It’s so bad. And we have dark wood floors so these fibers show up everywhere. But the rug itself is beautiful.

5 stars

This rug looks beautiful and pulls the whole room together with a calm, elevated feel. The subtle pattern adds texture without overwhelming the space, and the neutral tone works perfectly with the warm wood and modern traditional furniture. Feels high quality and appreciate that it’s made from natural & sustainable materials.

Doesn't hold up

Hello I have had this rug for a little over a year and I cannot tell you how frustrated I am with it. The color has faded so so much it's wild. Under my coffee table is so much darker than exposed area. It's hard to tell in the picture but the bottom of the photo is so much crisper and darker than the top. That's not my only frustration the woven nature of this rug is loops and as you can see from the second and third pics they fray and lift so easily. I literally have had to sit for hours with a pair of scissors to cut all the loops that have been lifted up and it's never ending.
